Heartfelt Apology to the Group
Hi all,
So many things have happened in the past three years (divorce, promotion, family death, marriage, became a step mom, bought a house, etc.). I truly owe everyone here a heartfelt apology.
As per the previous contest, I have donated points to our winners. I apologize because at the time, I could not find the appropriate amount of points to donate. Needless to say, here are the following winners for the Simplicity Contest:

May's Springboard Challenge!
Directions: Use this poem as a springboard for your own writing. Read the poem (out loud, preferably, as poetry is meant to be heard with the ear, not just inside the head). Write down any words or phrases that jump out at you. Use those words or phrases to write your own poem (or essay or story). Place the piece in the Monthly Springboard Challenge folder by the 20th of the month, and read the other entries in it also!
This month, our poem is by Juan Felipe Herrara, the US Poet Laureate.

Monthly Poetry Challenge
To get us up and running again, #dA-WritersRevolution (https://www.deviantart.com/da-writersrevolution), staring in May, is sponsoring a poetry challenge each month. This will be a springboard poem challenge, meaning that we will post a poem, which you, the poet, will use as a springboard to write your own poem. We will post them, vote on them, and the winners will get a prize of some sort.
That leads me to you, our members....we need judges, prize givers, and of course, participants. If you'd like to help in any capacity, please let the admin know!
Let's make our group active again, and place where we can improve our craft.
Revving the Engine!
The admin has been slow here, we've all have our lives, and now, with the arrival of spring, we're going to try and get ourselves back into the swing of things (if anyone wants to help--let me know! This is a lonely job, and hard to do on one's own).
Our group is very diverse, ranging from poets, to fantasy writers, to horror writers, to mainstream fiction. And since a group is nothing without its members, let the admin know what it is you want from this group.
dA is an artist colony, do you want critiques of your work to help you improve?
Would you like classes/workshops on writing techniques, story construction, poetry structure?
